I created this guide on how to get a MSI Z370 hackintosh up and running with High Sierra using the popular MSI Z370-A Pro paired with an Intel i5-8400 as part of my test build as whenever Intel releases a new chipset I like to try many different motherboards for myself and see what I like about then an what I don’t while comparing them to the other brands. Get this motherboard? If you prefer using MSI motherboards over the other brands then I recommend getting a different MSI board over the MSI Z370-A Pro I have. This is because

Ever since the Nvidia Web Drivers have come out for High Sierra 10.13.3 (17D47) they’ve been causing all sorts of issues on top of them already being tricky to install for beginners. Even after getting the Nvidia Web Drivers working  on 10.13.3 everything is going to be super slow and laggy so I’m posting this to aware you all that there is another and simplier method that can be used to get Nvidia Web Drivers working. Using this alternative method we can install the Web Drivers through Terminal using a script provided by Vulgo This script is good for installing

Best Hackintosh 4k HDMI to Display Port (DP) adapter

Getting HDMI to work properly on a hackintosh whether it be displaying 4k@60hz or actually getting HDMI to display anything at all other than a black screen can be tricky especially for those that don’t know HDMI has problems working on a hackintosh especially at 4k or high refresh rates. To get around this limitation what you can do is use a HDMI to DP active adapter which I personally used to get 4k 60hz working on an HDMI only display through a GPU that wouldn’t display 4k60 over it’s HDMI output. The easiest way to get your monitor or

Since making the switch to 4k for an HTPC hackintosh setup I wanted to exclusively pair it with an Coffee Lake iGPU UHD 630 instead of a dedicated graphics card, but in the first couple days of use I noticed a huge issue where the entire screen would start spazzing out and glitching all over the place, which would occur multiple times a day and were I would have to hard reset to make it go away. I was starting to think I was going to have to resort using a graphics card for this system, but luckily I was able

Here’s how you can get temperature, fan-speed and voltage monitoring on an AMD hackintosh. I’m currently using this method for my Ryzen hackintosh. If you have a AMD hackintosh like me all you need to do is download the necessary kexts and app and place them in the correct location. Once you do that  you’ll be able to see connect your hardware sensors to macOS. What you’ll be able to see with the HWMonitor app will depend on what motherboard brand you have. This is what I can see on my ASRock hackintosh: Instructions for AMD HWSensors The steps to get

This guide will show you the steps to install Sierra on a AMD Ryzen PC using a VMWare Virtual Machine. I’m making this guide for those who don’t have access to a Mac and need macOS to either try out for a bit or create a macOS boot loader installer for a AMD hackintosh build. There is another VMWare Sierra guide on this site, but  with AMD system a modified VMWare image is required to even be able to boot macOS so this AMD VMWare guide has to be used instead. Why not a High Sierra VM? So getting High

Hackintosh Dual Boot Windows 10 and macOS High Sierra (Same Drive)

On a hackintosh it’s possible to dual boot macOS and Windows on the same hard drive disk, which I will explain how to here. Although it’s recommended that macOS be installed on a separate drive than Windows, it’s perfectly possible to dual boot Windows and macOS on the same drive for those that don’t have multiple hard drives to spare. Dual-booting on separate hard drives is super easy you just install macOS on one drive and Windows on the other and then simply boot Windows as a temporary device or through the Clover menu. For those that want to install

So you’ve locked yourself out of macOS by making changes to your Clover EFI folder and you don’t have a backup to get back in. Fortunately there is a way to make changes to your EFI partition on Windows in case this happens to you. Step 1. Mount EFI Partition on Windows In order to be able to access the macOS EFI partition on Windows we first need to mount it. There are a couple ways to mount an EFI partition, in my opinion the simplest way is to give it a drive letter. Install MiniTool Partition Wizard Free Edition Open

One of the things holding back a potential hackintosher from trying to hackintosh or install macOS on their PC is that they have only one hard drive and that hard drive already has Windows installed on it with no secondary backup or second drive to spare. There is actually a way to install macOS on a drive that already has Windows installed on it without having to delete Windows, but this will only work if the Windows disk is GPT formatted. Step 1: Verify GPT Partition Type Install MiniTool Partition Wizard Free Edition Open MiniTool Partition Wizard Verify your Disk is GPT

I decided to start out things out small and simple with 4 different forum sections in a very basic layout for now. General Chat – Here you can

On a hackintosh the inclusion of apfs.efi in the EFI boot partition folder will cause a verbose output to flash on the screen right before the Clover menu pops up, if you don’t like this there is a actually a way to make it go away. The verbose output displays information related to any APFS formatted hard drive you have connected to your hackintosh. If you don’t have any APFS drivers you will only see one or two lines, but with APFS formatted drives will see a wall of text. APFS.efi is needed if you have or plan to use APFS

Quick fixes for FaceTime + iCloud + iMessage Hackintosh not working

iMessage, iCloud and FaceTime can definitely work on a hackintosh, however sometimes there is something missing or theres an issue with the configuration files or the network that is preventing these macOS apps from working. However sometimes the problem can also be hardware related in the case of using a AMD/Ryzen system to which I haven’t nor anybody I know of has gotten these services to work, but if you have an Intel hackintosh here’s the usual suspects that can be preventing you from fully becoming 100%  hackintosh. 1. Incorrect BSD Device Names If the BSD Device Names of your Active

Want HDMI 4k 60hz to work with integrated graphics? Buy one of these motherboards

4k 60hz will work with Intel Coffee Lake integrated graphics as long as you have one of the few motherboards with support for it. As out of all the Z370 motherboards available there are only three out there that can drive 4k60 over the onboard HDMI output and this is because they have HDMI 2.0 support. This can be super useful for building a custom PC without a graphics card whether it be a Small Form Factor build or simply not wanting to buy a shell out the money for a dGPU like with my latest build. I’m using a Gigabyte

After rumors circulating for some time that Apple was interested in making their own chips for the MacBook and iMac, it now that transition may start sooner than thought. Apple is looking to replace Intel and introduce their own likely ARM based chipset to the Mac, as they’ve already done for the iPhone and iPad as part of a plan to merge IOS and MacOS into one starting as early as 2020. With ARM strength lying being it’s power efficiently it appearance is most likely going to appear first in a lower powered Mac like the 12-inch MacBook before being

If a poor quality HDMI or DisplayPort cable is plugged in your display can flicker, cut in and out or even display no signal sign or a nice black screen. This is much more likely to happen if you are using a monitor or TV that can output 4k 60Hz  or have a multi display setup. HDMI Flickering in macOS High Sierra Take for example this video I recorded using different HDMI cables on my High Sierra hackintosh the first cable used is this 25ft SecurOMax HDMI Cable which is suppose to be able to handle 4k60, but for some reason

Here’s what you need to do instead for ThunderBolt 3 device to work. I have a motherboard with a ThunderBolt 3 USB-C Port why won’t it work?
